Real Madrid is a step closer to La Décima

Real Madrid beat Galatasaray 3-0
in the first-leg of the quarter-finals
of the European Champions
League and is a step closer to
classifying for the semifinals.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the
game with the first goal after only
nine minutes of the first half and
became the tournament’s top
scorer with nine goals. Karim
Benzema scored the second goal
at the 29th minute superbly and
Gonzalo Higuaín, who had
replaced Benzema, scored a
header into the top corner with a
free kick in the 73rd minute. Total
domination.
The atmosphere of the game was
awesome. Real Madrid supporters
were chanting and cheering their
team throughout the game,
specifically when the players
scored the goals, but also after
each change of players.
Galatasaray supporters were also
great. They behaved well, were
friendly and did not caused any
disturbances. The fans cheered
their team since minute one until
the end of the game, even though
they were losing. We can expect a
more enthusiastic demonstration
from the Turkish fans in the
decisive second-leg of the
Champions League.
It was a great game, Real Madrid
was dominant as expected.
Galatasaray tried their best but the
keepe,r Diego Lopez continues to
do a great job to defend his team
and kept a clean sheet throughout
the match. Real Madrid will
continue to work hard in order to
win their tenth European Cup.
If The Whites score a goal in
Istanbul, Galatasaray will need to
score 5 goals to qualify. We will
have to wait for the second-leg of
the quarter-finals to see if
Galatasaray can overcome their 3
goal deficit.
