Real Madrid train in the Santiago Bernabéu

On Friday Real Madrid trained in the Santiago
Bernabéu for the first time in the 2012/2013
season to prepare for their official debut in
the current campaign. This Sunday the Whites
go up against Valencia on their home ground
(19:00, C+ Liga and Gol T) on the first day of
the Liga. It will be a clash in which the
reigning champion will face the team that
came third in the last Liga. José Mourinho led
the team's third training session of the week
in the same setting where the Real Madrid
players will kick off the championship.
The Whites' first training session of the season in
the Santiago Bernabéu took place in extremely hot
weather. It was the second day this week that José
Mourinho worked with the footballers that played
matches with their national sides. The training
session was composed of three groups that
worked separately. In the first, the three Whites
keepers, Casillas, Adán and Jesús, trained
alongside goalkeeping coach Silvino Louro,
working intensely both with and without the ball.
The second group was comprised of Benzema,
Cristiano Ronaldo, Özil, Di María, Higuaín,
Khedira, Arbeloa, Albiol and Coentrão. The nine
footballers were led in their session by Rui Faria,
who had them doing different stretches,
continuous running and various exercises.
Meanwhile, the other outfielder players took part
in an intense warm-up before working with the
ball. José Mourinho followed his footballers'
progress very carefully in what will be the setting
for the Whites' debut match.
